Fresno Nightcrawler

Also known as nightcrawler, walking pants

A legs-only figure born from surveillance footage and internet retelling.

Reference note

At a glance

The Fresno Nightcrawler is a modern internet cryptid resembling a pale pair of legs walking without a visible torso. Its story begins with security footage recorded by a Fresno resident in 2007 and publicized through Spanish-language television and paranormal media. A later clip attributed to Yosemite Lakes Park reinforced the image, but neither recording establishes what was filmed.

Reference note

Tradition & history

Unlike legends with long oral histories, the nightcrawler has no verified pre-video tradition. Television investigation and online sharing supplied its name, repeated silhouette, and much of its popularity. Claims linking it to Indigenous carvings have not been substantiated by regional tribal sources.

Reference note

In fiction

Fan art and merchandise usually present nightcrawlers as gentle, curious companions. This playful interpretation is now more culturally prominent than the original paranormal framing.
